Did you know that Hina Khan is as much a foodie as she is a fitness freak? It wouldn’t be wrong to then call her a fit foodie who knows her way around a healthy diet and yet manages to satiate her cravings time and again. Sometimes, you’ll find her digging into good Chinese food at some restaurant or a hearty mutton biryani at home.
But on most days, she follows a strict diet that involves eating clean and healthy. This is supplemented by a rigorous, regular workout. This time, instead of tempting us with kebabs or exotic dishes that she had recently tried, she enlightened us with a healthy eating tip. She took to her Instagram stories to share a picture of a Brazil nut, and the caption talked all about its health benefits.
She highlighted how she consumes one nut per day because "it has many health benefits." She described that the thyroid gland contains the most selenium in the body and that a lack of it causes thyroid diseases. Brazil nuts are an excellent source of selenium as well as magnesium and copper. Therefore, it should be included in one’s diet. She also added that since everybody reacts differently to a particular food item, it is best to consult one’s general physician or dietician before eating this nut.
These edible nuts found in the Amazon rainforest are said to have a good amount of antioxidants, which prevent inflammation in the body. They contain soluble fibre that helps improve digestion. However, since nuts are dense in calories, it is always recommended to eat them in moderation and in a regulated quantity, i.e., no more than three per day.
