Ingredients
- ½ cup chana dal
- 1 small size lauki
- Tomato
- 1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste
- Cumin seeds
- 1 green chilli
- 1 tablespoon coriander powder
- Half tablespoon turmeric
- Pinch of asafoetida
- Finely chopped coriander leaves
- 2 tablespoon oil/ ghee
Method-
- The first step is to soak chana dal in water for one hour. Meanwhile, cut lauki into small and delicate pieces.
- Take a pressure cooker filled with one cup of water and add lauki with half a tablespoon of turmeric powder and salt in it.
- Keep the lauki boiling in the cooker on low flame until you hear five whistles.
- To boil the lauki, heat oil/ ghee in a pan and add cumin seeds, asafoetida, coriander powder, ginger garlic paste, grated tomatoes, green chillies, and a pinch of salt.
- Stir the pan for a while and let the masala cook properly.
- Pour boiled chana dal into the pan and cook for another 20 minutes. Keep stirring till the masala mixes well.
- Voila! Lauki Chane ki daal is ready. Garnish it with coriander leaves.
- Serve warm and enjoy with roti, parathas or rice.
