Rum Cocktail on the Rocks

If you aren't always a lover of stemware because you have flying elbows or simply don't live for the thrill of perhaps spilling your drink as it travels from surface to lips and back to the surface, this is your cocktail answer. 

Ingredients 

2 ounces Bacardi rum 

1 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice 

¾ ounce grenadine 

Ice 

Orange or lime wedge for garnish 

Method: 

Mix ice, rum, lime juice, and grenadine in a cocktail shaker. Shake to chill. Strain into a rocks glass filled with new ice. Garnish with an orange or lime wedge. 

Rum Punch 

The rum punch is a drink as old as time, with several variations, recipes, and locations around the world. This ingredient-forward rum punch is a great way to start or continue your rum punch journey. 

Ingredient: 

1½ ounces Bacardi silver rum 

¾ ounce Bacardi dark rum 

1 ounce pineapple juice 

½ ounce freshly squeezed orange juice 

½ ounce cranberry juice 

¼ ounce grenadine 

Ice 

Mint sprig for garnish 

Method: 

In a cocktail shaker, combine ice, Bacardi silver rum, Bacardi dark rum, pineapple juice, orange juice, cranberry juice, lime juice, and grenadine. Shake to chill. Strain into a rocks glass filled with new ice. Garnish with a mint sprig. 

Mojito 

The minty, crisp, nicely blended mojito is possibly the most renowned or at least recognized of the rum beverages. There is no wrong method to make a mojito, whether with muddled mint or mint simple syrup. All that counts is that first taste slows the world down and melts concerns away. 

Ingredients: 

6-8 fresh mint leaves 

1½ ounces Bacardi silver rum 

1 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice 

¾ ounce simple syrup 

Crushed ice 

Club soda to top off 

Mint sprig and lime wedge for garnish 

Method: 

Mint leaves, lime juice, and simple syrup should be muddled in a cocktail shaker. Combine rum with ice. To chill, shake. Pour into a highball glass without straining. Add club soda to finish. Once to blend, stir. A lime wedge and a sprig of mint are garnishes.

You believe that every recipe for a hurricane is the same. You're not mistaken, but there are several types of hurricanes in the natural world, and there are various hurricane cocktails you can make. 

Ingredients: 

1 ounce Bacardi dark rum 

¾ ounce Bacardi silver rum 

1½ ounces passion fruit syrup OR passion fruit puree 

1 ounce freshly squeezed orange juice 

1 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice 

¼ ounce grenadine 

Ice 

Orange slice for garnish

Method: 

Pour ice, dark rum, silver rum, passion fruit syrup, lime, orange, and grenadine into a cocktail shaker. For cooling, shake. On top of brand-new ice, strain into a hurricane or pilsner glass. Orange slice for the garnish.
