Kada Prasad Recipe

Here is the detailed recipe for preparing kada prasad at home:

Ingredients:

1 cup whole wheat flour (atta)

1 cup ghee (clarified butter)

1 cup of sugar

3 cups of water

Chopped Nuts (Optional): almonds or cashews for garnishing

Instructions:

Heat a heavy-bottomed pan or kadhai on medium flame.

Add whole wheat flour and roast it in ghee until it turns golden brown. Stir continuously to avoid burning.

In a separate pot, combine water and sugar to make a syrup.

Boil the syrup until it reaches a one-string consistency. This can be tested by taking a drop of syrup between your fingers; it should form a single string when pulled apart.

Slowly add the roasted flour to the sugar syrup, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.

Keep the flame low to ensure thorough mixing and prevent the formation of lumps.

Cook the mixture on low heat until it thickens and leaves the sides of the pan.

Continue stirring to maintain a smooth consistency.

Once the mixture is well-cooked, add ghee to enhance the flavour and richness of Kada Prasad.

Stir well until the ghee is fully incorporated.

If desired, add chopped nuts, like almonds or cashews, for a delightful crunch and visual appeal.

Once the kada prasad achieves the desired consistency, turn off the heat.

Offer the warm and sacred Kada Prasad to the Guru Granth Sahib Ji with deep reverence and devotion.
