Grated Egg Toast Is The Latest Breakfast Trend To Take Internet By Storm

From baked feta pasta, pasta chips to nature’s cereal, the year gone by gave us many interesting food trends that kept us hooked, and looks like this year has also started on a high. By now, most of us are well versed with the ingredients required for the ‘green goddess salad’ and have made up our mind to try the ‘yoghurt/custard on toast’ trend sometime soon. Joining the league of latest food trends to make breakfast fun, is this grated egg toast trend. The trend which requires you to grate a boiled egg on top of your toast has set social media on fire.

You may have grated cheese on top of your toasts a million times, if you are a pro, you can get the job done in much less time, but exactly how practical is grating a cold egg on top of your toast? After all, isn’t it much easier to tuck into a boiled egg?

What works for this trend is that it helps your eggs to spread to every corner of your bread and make every bite flavourful. Something that is not possible if you place the boiled egg at the centre of the toast, and let’s not forget how quickly it amps up the overall look and feel of your toast? All you have to do is take a take a small slice of bread and toast it, spread some guacamole or cheese or butter and simply grate a cold, boiled egg on top until the whole toast is covered with shreds of eggs. No, you need not separate the yolk for this, you can simply grab hold of the entire egg and start grating. Once you are done with the grating, sprinkle some oregano, chilli flakes or mixed herbs of your choice, and you are done. Bite into this gorgeous-looking toast and start the day on a ‘gourmet note’, even without using any of the exotic ingredients.

You can of course spruce up the toast as per your likes. Fancy bacon? Throw in a strip. A slice of salami can also do wonders. Chutneys and sauces are welcome too. So what are you waiting for? Try the grated egg toast trend and let us know how you liked it.
