Be it an epic house party or a lazy movie night, a tub of popcorn always adds to the fun. The crunchy, flavourful and light snacks are perfect when it comes to mindless munching. But sometimes, there might be leftover popcorn sitting in a kitchen jar at the end of the week. What to do then? Here are a few fun ways to whip them up into exciting snacks:
1. Bhelpuri
Street food is undoubtedly every Indian’s favourite. Mixing popcorn with bhelpuri will not only add to the crunchiness, but also elevate the flavour of the dish.
2. Fried Chicken
Blend popcorn into a fine powder and use it to coat your dipped chicken pieces. This is also a great alternative when you have run out of bread crumbs. The popcorn will give the chicken a crispy exterior and add the much-needed savoury flavour too.
3. Make Granola Bars
Add popcorn to your granola mix and make some granola bars that are filled with the goodness of healthy fats and carbs. Add some creamy peanut butter to the mix to add flavour.
4. Amp Up Your Salads
Salads are always fun with a variety of textures going throughout the salad. Add leftover popcorn to your salads to add a crunch element to them. You can also season the popcorn with minimal spices before adding them.
5. Popcorn Balls
Whip up a quick sweet snack by making popcorn balls with leftover popcorn, marshmallows and orange food colouring. Melt the marshmallows along with orange food colouring and fold in the popcorn. Shape them into balls with buttered hands and have them for snacks.
