Recently, a hamburger made it to the list of World Records as the world’s most expensive burger and can you guess what it is called? The Golden Boy. Aptly named, this marvelous creation was the brainchild of Robbert Jan de Veen, a chef at the De Daltons diner in Netherlands. The chef took to their Instagram to share an image of this magnificent burger, sitting on its throne and the netizens were left in awe. Take a look.

Wondering what makes this burger worth 5000 Euros, which is approx. INR 4 lakhs? Let’s take it up, layer by layer. According to the diner’s official website, the burger is made up of “Beluga caviar, king crab, Spanish Paleta Ibérico, white truffle, English cheddar”. The main sauce used in the burger is barbeque, flavoured with world’s most expensive coffee, Kopi Luwak and some Macallan whiskey. But the essence of the burger lies in its bun and we were so excited to hear that the Chef kneads an in-house dough using Dom Pérignon champagne.

While the burger is stuffed with all things exquisite, it is the presentation which makes it even fancier. Lying in a jar covered plate filled with whiskey smoke, the burger is topped with a gold leaf like a crown and the infusion of flavours takes place.

It might sound a bit crazy to splurge such a huge amount for a burger but when it’s for a good cause, it’s a win-win for both. In the light of the current crisis that the world in general and the catering industry in specific, is going through, Robbert Veen extended his support by donating the money to food banks to provide relief to the needy.

A whopping burger, a whopping price and a whopping cause, we are a whopping already!

NOTE: In case someone from Netherlands is planning to try this incredible burger, you need to place an order two weeks in advance, as per the De Daltons official website.
