Diwali may be over but the festive hangover will linger on for a few more days. Like earlier times, Bollywood celebrated Diwali with a lot of fun, food, and frolic this year too. Since any festival is incomplete without sweets, people love to dig into their favourite laddoos and barfis this time of the year. However, the ‘fusion mithais’ are what stole the show this Diwali, with many many B-Town celebs gorging on them.

From Champagne Laddoo to Motichoor Cheesecake, the film industry is going gaga over these alcohol-induced mithais. But where are these decadent sweets coming from? These are created by Nihira, a Delhi-based luxury mithai brand known for their boozy sweet meats. Run by Subha and Arshya Aggarwa, a mother-daughter duo from the Capital, the hallmark of Nihira is its innovative mithais packed in a luxurious way and delivered to its customers.

The vision is to give a modern spin to the traditional Indian sweets and, in the process, make way for fusion sweets that are interesting yet delicious. While they do amazing variations of laddoos and barfis for each festival, this Diwali, there were a plethora of boozy laddoos that made their way into the Bollywood homes. For instance, Shilpa Shetty enjoyed a boxful of assorted sweets this Diwali. Rahul Khanna too was spotted with a bag of these gourmet goodies. Neha Dhupia, actor and reality TV host, received these yummy sweet meats on the occasion of Diwali. The luxury brand worked around several alcoholic bases and came up with nine new varieties of mithais this festive season.

There was Pina Coloda Laddoo, Jagger Bomb-flavoured Balls, Gin and Cranberry Laddoos, Whiskey Laddoos as well as the champagne, sambuca, red wine and lavender versions. Giving our beloved balls of happiness a unique facelift during festival season, the duo has managed to amaze and delight everyone in the films with their decadent flavours and out-of-the-box innovations. Even social media content creators like Kusha Kapila indulged in these "Indian sweets 2.0". She tried their cranberry panjiri and cinnamon shakkarpare and loved them all. She even called them "So South Delhi".

Apart from the laddoos, they also do some Cheesecake and Tiramisu Barfis that are quite tempting. You can also grab a bite of other indulgent treats like the Thandai Peda, Mulled Wine Halwa and Blueberry Panjiri. Roshni Chopra, too was seen eating their blueberry cheesecake barfis and a variety of ladoos too. In the past, Harbhajan Singh and his wife, Geeta Basra announced their baby and celebrated with Nihira's special mithais. Making the most of the auspicious occasion, these innovative sweets are definitely worth a shot. No wonder Bollywood is going crazy about these amazing bites.
