One of the oldest beverages on the planet,  tea is made from soaking dried leaves in hot water. Tea is also very complex in terms of flavour palate and brewing methods. Teas from different geographical regions have a different touch to them.

The variations of tea is what makes tea so special. A certain type and preparation may give the same caffeine yield without any of its bad effects. Coffee, as a result, may be preferred over tea.

The fermentation and oxidation process gives tea a different look and taste. Some of the most common varieties of tea are black tea, green tea, white tea, herbal tea, and rooibos tea.

Black Tea

This kind of tea has its own regional variations like Assam Tea, Darjeeling Tea, Earl Grey and English Breakfast tea. It is made from Camellia sinensis and then it is later fully or partially oxidized. It has a malty and strong taste and dark colour.

Green Tea

With an earthy and light flavour, it is made from the same plant as black tea except it is unoxidized. It is in fact very popular across the world. Its sub varieties are Matcha, Sencha, Dragon Well tea, and Gunpowder tea.

White Tea

Not very commonly found in India, the white tea is made from Camellia sinensis and is only slightly oxidized. Silver needle and white peony are its common varieties which have a floral and fruity taste.

Herbal Tea

This is a special variety which is made from tea leaves and is infused with dried herbs, fruits and flowers. To enjoy herbal tea, you can choose from chamomile tea, peppermint, hibiscus tea and mate tea. It has a sweet and delicate taste.
