Bardot To American Pie: Sip On 6 Exciting Cocktails This Weekend

After a long and stressful week, the weekend is finally here. It is time to forget about work and the office and go on a trip with your loved ones. But if you are feeling too lazy to go out this time and want to stay indoors, plan a cocktail night with your family. Why not invite your friends over to your house? This is the perfect way to spend some quality time with your buddies within your budget.

For this plan, all you need are close friends, a movie of your favourite genre, and some food. Just these three things, and you are set for your simple yet special house party. In order to amp up the celebration mood, you can also serve them some exciting cocktails. Made with a variety of interesting ingredients like liqueurs, spirits, mixers, fruits, and garnishes, these boozy drinks will add extra fun to the celebration. 

So, if you are looking for some unique and interesting cocktails for your weekend party, here are six special recipes shared by Ali Hamdan, Head Mixologist and Beverage Manager at Hilton Maldives, Amingiri, and his team, Yangdup Lama, Mixologist at Budweiser Magnum Double Barrel Whiskey, and Ami Shroff, Mixologist at Smoke Lab Vodka: 

Kumiko 


Ingredients  

  • 24-40 ml beefeater 
  • 40 ml clarified melon, grapefruit, and yuzu blend 
  • 5 ml mint cordial 
  • 5 ml of elderflower syrup 
  • 1 teaspoon finger lime  

Method 

  • First, muddle the lime in a shaker. Add the rest of the ingredients and fill the shaker with ice.
  • Shake well, strain, and pour over ice.
  • To garnish, use a banana leaf and finger lime. Finish with a pump of house-made Sakura perfume and serve in a Kes-sho Geber.

The Bardot 

Ingredients 

  • 40 ml of American gin 
  • 30 ml of house-made chamomile citrus oil syrup 
  • 10 ml of freshly squeezed lemon juice 
  • 5 ml of lychee syrup 
  • 4 drops of cocktail enhancer

Method 

  • Add all the ingredients to a shaker and fill it with ice.  
  • Shake well, and fine strain into the glass. 
  • Garnish with berry tuile and serve in a coupe glass. 

Curry Highball 


Ingredients 

  • 3 curry leaves
  • 20 ml passion fruit puree 
  • 20 ml of pressed lemon juice 
  • 15 ml of simple syrup 
  • 60 ml Beefeater, 24 gin 
  • 90 ml of tepache, fermented in the cocktail lab

Method 

  • Add all the ingredients to a shaker, muddle, and shake.  
  • Garnish with dehydrated pineapple and curry leaves, and serve in a highball glass.  

Sunset Soiree 


Ingredients  

  • 50 ml of Smoke Lab saffron vodka 
  • 50 ml brew of jasmine and orange zest 
  • 10 ml honey-apple (or as per taste) 
  • 75ml tonic  

Method 

For jasmine-orange tea

  • Make a strong brew of dried jasmine flowers and orange zest and leave it to cool. 

For honey apples

  • Dilute organic honey with apple juice in equal parts (1:1). 
  • Built up: add all ingredients over ice in a wine glass or tall glass.  
  • Garnish with a jasmine flower or any edible flower, and smoke. 

The Meadow 

Ingredients 

  • 60 ml Budweiser Magnum Double Barrel whiskey 
  • 10 ml mint cordial 
  • 10 ml of fresh lime juice 
  • 3 drops of vegan foamer  

Method 

  • Add all the ingredients to a cocktail shaker and shake well. 
  • Pour into a glass and garnish with an orange peel and a fresh mint sprig.  

American Pie 


Ingredients  

  • 60 ml Budweiser Magnum Double Barrel whiskey 
  • 60 ml apple juice reduction 
  • 10 ml of maple syrup 
  • 10 ml of fresh lime juice

Method 

  • Add all the ingredients to a cocktail shaker.
  • Then strain it into a stemmed glass.  
  • Garnish with dehydrated apple and grated cinnamon powder. Serve.
