International Friendship Day is just around the corner, as the world is set to celebrate it on July 30 (Saturday). While India celebrates it on the first Sunday of August, the rest of the world celebrates Friendship Day in July. It is a special occasion to celebrate the special bond we share with our friends and loved ones.
It was first organised by Joyce Hall, the founder of Hallmark Cards in 1930. But over the years, Friendship Day has become synonymous with simply catching up and having a great time with friends. And any great party is incomplete without food, isn’t it? So, why not try having a get-together at home instead of going out? After all, house parties are always more fun.
So, if you are planning to host a get-together at home for your friends, the first priority should be to plan a delectable feast for your friends. And there is nothing easier to prepare than a spread of snacks that are not just fuss-free and easy, but also super delicious. And to get you sorted for the same, we have compiled a list of snacks that you can prepare for your Friendship’s Day party in a jiffy.
1. Chicken Popcorn
These bite-sized munchies are absolutely flavourful and crunchy, besides being easy and quick to make. Boneless chicken cubes coated in a mix of garlic salt and flour, buttermilk, and panko crumbs are deep-fried in hot oil until they turn crisp and crunchy. Can it get any better? Yes, once you serve it along with your favourite dipping sauce.
2. Zucchini Fries
These lip-smacking fries are too good to resist. Parmesan cheese, Italian herbs, garlic, black pepper, ranch dressing are smeared over zucchinis, which are then deep-fried. Slurping already, aren’t you?
3. Momos
We can never go wrong with a platter of momos, can we? Experiment with fillings as much as you want. From paneer and vegetable to chicken and mutton, serve your momos hot with a fiery sauce. You can even pan-fry or deep-fry them, according to your choice.
4. Cheese Balls
Super easy to make and bursting with flavours, these potato cheese balls made with a mix of tantalising red chilies, garlic, and coriander along with oodles of cheese are unmissable. These can be deep fried, baked, or pan fried.
5. Fish Fingers
A definite crowd-pleaser on the table, fish fingers are preferred snacks at any party. Pieces of fish, coated in batter and deep fried, are served best with some tartare sauce on the side.
