Let’s just agree that ladoo has been a part of Indian cuisine, culture and celebrations like no other sweet. Right from being a part of all Indian festivals to being one of the most popular gifting options for many – ladoos seems to be a unanimous choice for most of us. And to top it all, the sheer variety of ladoos make it an even more loved sweet. From motichoor, besan to dry fruit or coconut, there is so much we can do with ladoos. And then there are so many memories attached to it. I remember my naani making delectable suji ladoos every time we went there for our summer vacations. And as per our dadi and nani, certain ladoos have health benefits too. Certain ingredients in ladoos like gond (edible gum) in gond ka ladoo, helps warm up our body and is also known to boost immunity against seasonal infections.

Seems like Chef Saransh Goila agrees with the it too, as he shared a unique ladoo recipe and its various health benefits. Liquid ladoo, yes you read that right, is basically a liquid besan ladoo that is made with ghee, haldi, kali mirch and more. As per Chef Goila, it is his dadi ka nuskha to “combat cold”

Chef Saransh Goila took to Instagram to share the unique ‘liquid ladoo’ recipe and explained how it is basically sheera for many people. He wrote "LIQUID LADDOO in the house. A lot of people call this Sheera or just *Besan* and I find both those terminologies for this dish confusing. Hence, Liquid ladoo just sits well with me. This is my dadi's recipe with her nuskhe to combat cold and give warmth to your soul and ENT. Truly missed her today and made this to honour her memory. Have you tried this when you had flu? Works like magic for me. I'd say anyway try it - it's a mithai in a cup and not just when you have flu."

Sounds interesting, isn’t it? Here's how you too can make liquid ladoo at home. Or should we say ladoo in a cup?

Saransh Goila's Liquid Ladoo Recipe:

1. Heat 2 tbsp ghee in a kadhai. Add 4 tbsp besan and cook for 10 minutes, on low flame.

2. Add 2 cups of water in 3 parts and stir well to avoid lumps.

3. Add turmeric powder, black pepper powder, cardamom powder and jiggery and cook to get a thick and smooth consistency, with a rich colour. Transfer the liquid ladoo in a cup and enjoy.

Isn’t it one of the easiest recipes that balances taste and health? Go on, try and let us know how you liked it too.
