You may think whipping up an omelette is the easiest way to use up all those extra eggs lying in your pantry, but here we bring you a recipe that is much easier in our view. And it is much healthier too. Since these eggs are made in an idli steamer, it helps save you many calories. You can make it with exactly the same amount of ingredients you use to make your daily omelette, and you can put it together in less than 15 minutes. Intrigued? Here’s what you need to do according to the recipe shared by YouTuber Alpa on her cooking channel ‘Something’s Cooking With Alpa’.

1. Grease the idli tray with melted butter.

2. Break the egg and add to the cavities of the Idli tray. Do not whip the egg. The yolk needs to remain intact. Add whites on the side carefully.

3. Now add chopped onions very finely on top of the egg.

4. Then throw in chopped tomatoes.

5. Some fresh coriander leaves can go in next.

6. Add pinch of black pepper powder, salt to taste, chilli flakes.

7. Steam eggs for 10 minutes on low to medium flame.

8. Take a toothpick and pierce in the centre, if it comes out clean then your eggs are ready.

9. Let the eggs cool down to room temperature. Demould using spoon. Place them on a plate.

10. Take a bowl and with two teaspoons of water, mix half teaspoon of Kashmiri red chilli powder, cumin pwder, coriander powder, garam masala, salt.

11. Take this fiery masala and apply a dash on top of the steamed egg Idli.

That’s it. That is all you need to do for this recipe. Sounds like a dream, right? It sure tastes like one too.
