Cupcakes are an American invention, we may say. In the year 1796, an American cookery book talked about a recipe that was actually a cake, but which could be baked in small cups. Thus, was born our world-famous cupcake.
Ingredients:
• 1 medium bowl of flour
• 1 medium bowl of sugar
• 1 small bowl of baking powder
• 1 small bowl of salt/salt according to taste
• 1 small bowl of nutmeg
• 1 small bowl of cinnamon
• 1 small bowl of grated ginger
• 1 small bowl of powdered cloves
• 500 gms butter
• 2 eggs
• 1 litre milk
• Oil
• Vanilla essence
• Cream
• Mascarpone
1. Add flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, nutmeg, cinnamon powder, grated ginger, and powdered cloves in a big glass bowl and mix them using a blender.
2. Add butter to the mix that we prepared. After adding once again we mix it well.
3. Now, add 2 egg yolks to the mix. Add 1 cup of milk to the mixture.
4. Next, we add oil (refined oil) to this mixture.
5. Add a little vanilla essence, and once again mix it well. Now what we get is a runny dough.
6. Use a spindle/spoon to mix the dough once or twice. If we feel that the dough is not well made, we once again use our blender to mix it once. Our dough is now ready.
7. Next, we take a baking pan and cupcake moulds. Use a scoop or a spoon to fill the moulds with the batter. Put them in the oven to bake. Bake until golden brown.
8. Next, we have to look at the toppings. For the topping, take fresh cream in a bowl.
9. Add vanilla essence and sugar.
10. Mix these using the blender at a low speed first, then slowly increase the speed.
11. Add a spoonful of Mascarpone.
12. This will help stabilise the whipped cream. Mix it well, till it gives stiff peaks.
13. Now, we take a jar and a plastic sheet. Transfer the cream mix to the plastic sheet and make a cone. This will be used for the frosting.
14. Our cupcakes are now ready. Take them out of the oven.
15. Use the cream mix and grated nutmeg for the frosting.
16. Add salted caramel on top.
Here we are, the tasty, homemade cupcakes are ready to be served. The yummy dessert will surely help you win accolades from one and all, be it young children or grown-ups in the home, who are health conscious and avoid sweets from outside. Cupcakes made at home are way better than the ones we buy from the market. Usually, the cupcakes we buy from say a pastry shop, will not mention the day it was baked, or when did they come to the shop. We won’t know how they were stored. So, making cupcakes at home is a much better idea. We know that we are using ingredients which we have picked ourselves from the market, whose expiry date we have checked and which will not harm our consumers.
