Premium whiskys that are aged longer and often in higher quality barrels, impart more nuanced flavours like vanilla, caramel, oak and spices – which elevate the taste of a cocktail, adding depth and complexity. These intricate notes balance out other components of a cocktail, thereby complementing and enhancing the flavours of mixers and additives rather than being overshadowed by them. High-quality whiskys are usually smoother due to their aging process, making them more enjoyable to drink poured over ice or in cocktails.

Often associated with a perceived sense of luxury and sophistication, using premium spirits in cocktails influences the overall perception and enjoyment of the drink – making festive occasions feel more special and intimate with friends and family. Amid the glow of festivities and celebrations with the crew, concocting unforgettable cocktails is just as important as serving up mouth-watering platters of food. Using high quality whisky that has appealing aromatic qualities, can enhance the overall drinking experience; which becomes an essential part of enjoying a cocktail, influencing the perception of taste.

While the choice of whisky in a cocktail ultimately depends on personal preference, some people might prefer different characteristics or find that other types of whisky suit their tastes better in certain mixed drinks. To enhance the joy of this season's parties, we have compiled four inventive cocktail recipes by Grant’s. Whether you're a budding mixologist or a seasoned pro, these mixes are certain to elevate the festive spirit while you revel with your squad and loved ones. Grant’s Triple Wood is matured in three different types of woods: Virgin Oak cask – which provides the spicy robustness, American Oak – that lends subtle vanilla smoothness, and the Bourbon refill – which offers a brown sugar like sweetness – resulting in a smoother, richer, mellower taste. The notes of ripe pear and summer fruits and has a long and sweet finish with a subtle hint of smoke, make this even special given that fruity notes can elevate a cocktail experience by leaps and bounds.
