Known for her roles in ‘Dangal’, ‘Ludo’, ‘Modern Love Mumbai’ to name a few, actress Fatima Sana Shaikh has always been vocal about their vegetarian diet. Recently, the actress has donated vegan biryani to 1,000 needy people at the Bengali Basti of Delhi’s Vasant Kunj. Fatima also donated vegan chocolate milk and celebrated the festival in her own unique way. The donation was done ahead of Eid ul-Adha, which can be on June 28 or June 29, depending on the visibility of the moon. The donation was made through People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).
Fatima Sana Shaikh, who is a vegetarian by choice and was also named as the Most Beautiful Vegetarian celebrity, expressed that she is delighted to observe Eid ul-Adha with her friends at PETA India. “By distributing vegan biryani to those in need, we aim to spread kindness and good health”, she said. Vegans, vegetarian Muslims and others celebrate Eid ul-Adha by distributing vegan food or helping those in need in ways while keeping the concern of animal welfare, human health, and the environment in mind.
PETA's India Advocacy Officer Farhat Ul Ain while talking to an interview said, “it is commanded unto us to eat what is halal and tayyib (permissible and good natured), which means food that is not only lawful but also wholesome and ethically sourced. And by no means is meat today produced ethically,” Adding to this, he said, “Muslims, like members of all communities, are increasingly going vegan to save others’ lives and our own.”
Actress Fatima Sana Shaikh was quite appreciated for role in Dangal, Ludo, ‘Modern Love Mumbai’ among others. As per some reports, the actress is going to be seen in the upcoming projects like ‘Sam Bahadur’ as well as ‘Dhak Dhak’!
