Learn how to make peanut butter cookies, a simple recipe for fans of smooth or crunchy peanut butter. Peanut butter cookies are crumbly, chewy cookies with a crisscross pattern of fork marks on top that are rich in peanut butter taste. You may create peanut butter cookies with creamy peanut butter or with crunchy peanut butter for more texture. You can also use another nut butter for the peanut butter, such as almond butter. When commercial peanut butter was introduced in the United States in the early 1900s, it quickly became a cookie ingredient. Ruth Wakefield's Toll House Tried and True Recipes, published in 1937, was the first to use peanut butter as the main component in a cookie.
Ingredients
• 1 cup granulated sugar
• 1 cup peanut butter
• 1 egg
Method
• Set the oven's temperature to 350 degrees Fahrenheit for preheating.
• Use an electric mixer to thoroughly blend and cream the peanut butter, sugar, and egg in a large bowl.
• Create little balls out of the cookie dough and place them on a baking pan. With a fork, flatten the cookies twice, once horizontally and once vertically, to make a crisscross design.
• For ten minutes, bake. Before moving the cookies to a plate, give them two minutes to cool on the baking sheet. Offer and savour.
Important notes
The ratio is crucial. Because this recipe employs a 1:1 sugar-to-peanut butter ratio, the peanut butter taste truly shines through. By adding a pinch of vanilla essence to the dough mixture, you can enhance the peanut butter flavour even more. Also, feel free to add chocolate chips and/or chopped nuts for extra flavour and crunch to make more delicious cookies. Other nut butters, such as almond and cashew, can be used. You can also use sunflower butter, but be prepared for your cookies to turn green, or dip the baked biscuits in chocolate.
