Dark 'N' Stormy is a simple yet delicious spicy blend of dark rum and ginger beer. The association of rum and voyage goes back centuries in time. The voyagers often chose rum because it had less alcohol content compared to other liquors. Moreover, rum was one of the drinks which didn't get spoiled easily.
As per popular beliefs, the Dark 'N' Stormy cocktail was created in a series of events. Somewhere in 1806 spring, James Gosling who was the oldest son of wine and spirits merchant William Gosling, set out from Gravesend (Kent) England on the ship called Mercury, which was bound for America. The journey was going quite well but after 91 days on the sea, the charter expired suddenly and the ship was halted at the nearest port, St. George’s, Bermuda.
It is said that James fell in love with the place so much that he decided to stay there. Almost after fifty years, in 1860 Goslings officially began to produce and sell rum on a large scale on that island itself. Simultaneously, ginger beer was also produced on the island, among other places at a factory operated as a subsidiary to the Royal Naval Officer's Club. So, the story goes that during World War 1, the sailors began to mix Gosling's rum with ginger beer. This delish concoction helped them with seasickness and kept them warm in harsh weather.

Ingredients:
- 1 ½ ounces Gosling's Black Seal rum
- 3 ½ ounces ginger beer
- Lime wedge, garnish

2. Lastly, garnish it with lemon wedge.
