A popular ice cream chain in Bengaluru – Corner House Ice Creams – gave away a free scoop of the frozen treat to its customers at their Indiranagar outlet, in exchange for them showing off their go-to dance move. An initiative taken on to celebrate National Ice Cream Day, the chain, established in 1982, had people participate with enthusiasm in order to bag their free scoop. A video shared on social media showed customers walking up to the counter and doing a little jig before they were handed cups of delicious ice cream.
Happy customers walked away with a big smile on their faces, as on-lookers video graphed some of the footage, that won the hearts of the internet. The official Instagram page of the ice cream chain also shared the heart-warming video and captioned it, “When our cameras catch people dancing for a free scoop of ice cream, you know it’s a party worth melting for! This #IceCreamDay was absolutely wholesome at our Indiranagar branch. Thank you to all of you who filled our outlet with scoops of love and laughter.”
Established at a time when Bengaluru wasn’t the bustling metropolis we know of today, Corner House Ice Creams was established by Narayan Rao, an agriculture graduate who wanted to give up a job offer he bagged from Oberoi Kolkata. Known to have introduced the citizens of Bengaluru to the decadent and sinful Death By Chocolate dessert topped off with their signature chocolate fudge sauce, Corner House now occupies multiple locations across the city in the localities of Koramangala, Jayanagar, Basavangudi and Seshadripuram, among others.

Along with ice creams, Corner House also offers a delectable variety of dessert options like peach melba, brownie sundae, milkshakes and apple pies. This little initiative not only was the much-needed feel-good booster we needed but also reinforces the feeling of hope and generosity in these challenging times!
