Dal Palak Shorba; Protein Rich Spinach Soup For Winter

You must have eaten palak shorba or palak soup during winter. Dal palak is also a common dish during this season because of its nutritional value and deliciousness. Dal palak shorba is a delicious and healthy soup which is made with palak and dal. The soup-like consistency of dal palak shorba makes it a fantastic way to start a meal. a nourishing dish made with lentils, spinach, ginger, garlic, and mild spices. Add fresh cream and a big squeeze of lime to season.

Ingredients

  1. 100 gm yellow moong dal
  2. 100 gm tur dal
  3. 10 gm garam masala
  4. 5 gm turmeric powder
  5. 15 gm ginger
  6. 250 gm spinach
  7. 40 gm oil
  8. 1 tsp cumin seeds
  9. 1 green chilly chopped
  10. 8 cloves of garlic finely chopped
  11. Pinch of asafoetida
  12. Salt to taste
  13. Half a lemon juice
  14. 4 tsp thick cream

  1. Moong dal and tur dal (pigeon pea) should be soaked for a few hours in water. After thoroughly soaking them, cook them under pressure in 4 cups of water with spinach leaves. Create a paste, then set it aside.
  2. In a pan, heat the oil. Add cumin seeds thereafter and wait until they sputter. Then incorporate minced garlic and ginger. Cook them till the raw smell disappears. Add garam masala, turmeric powder, chopped red and green peppers, and a sprinkle of asafoetida when they start to turn a light brown.
  3. Add the dal and spinach paste after lightly frying this mixture. To change the consistency, add some water.
  4. Add thick cream and season the dal with lemon juice and salt as it simmers.
