Summer season is here and we are craving cooling drinks to quench our thirsts. One of the leading causes of health problems in the summer season is dehydration. It is important to keep yourself hydrated and keep drinking water or drinks that would lower the body temperature. Traditional and innovative, alcoholic and non-alcoholic, fresh and flavoured - all kinds of beverages are high in demand, with people going for new options everyday. From lassi to thandai and mojito to cosmopolitan, there are takers for every kind of drink.
Owing to this hot weather, Cedrik Rodrigues, Beverage manager at Hitchki resto-bar and Bayroute, has come up with two fabulous drinks to beat the heat. These drinks have the typical flavours of summer along with fun innovations that would give a kick to your senses. Here are the recipes for the drinks.
Aamsutra - Hitchki
Made with vodka and aam papad, this cocktail is the best remedy for a hot afternoon.
Ingredients
- 60 ml Vodka
- 20 gms Aam Papad
- 30 ml Aam Panna
- 15 ml Sweet & Sour Mix
- 90 ml Mango Juice
- 1 mg Red Chilli Powder
- Ice
Method
- Pour ice in shaker and pour Mango Juice.
- Shake all ingredients apart from Aam Papad and pour over Mango Juice.
- Garnish with Aam Papad.

Mango Chilli Rum Punch - Bayroute
The flavours of Mango Chilli Sorbet enhanced with Dark Rum with is cocktail.
- 60 ml Dark Rum
- 2 Scoops Mango Chilli Sorbet
- 10 ml Agave Nectar
- 10 ml Freshly Squeezed
- Lime Juice
- Ice
Method
- Pour ice in shaker and shake all ingredients along with only 1 scoop Sorbet.
- Pour over glass & drop remaining scoop in glass & serve.
