The natural oils found in orange peels contain limonene, a powerful degreasing agent with antibacterial and antifungal properties. Content creator Armen Adamjan who's best known for his DIY home remedies recently posted a tutorial on how to infuse orange peels with vinegar to make a sweet-smelling, upcycled cleaning spray. Here's how you can make this homemade cleaning spray. Collect peels from about 4-6 oranges. You can save them gradually in the refrigerator until you have enough.
Find a clean glass jar with a lid. Make sure it’s large enough to accommodate the orange peels and vinegar. Fill the jar with the orange peels, pressing them down gently. Pour white vinegar over the peels until they are completely submerged. Make sure the peels are covered to prevent mold growth.
Seal the jar with the lid and let it sit in a cool, dark place for about 2 weeks. Shake the jar every few days to help the infusion process.
After 2 weeks, strain the liquid to remove the peels and any pulp. Transfer the infused vinegar into a clean spray bottle, and it's ready to use!
