When it's the weekend, it’s totally fair that we talk about cocktails. Gin is quite a versatile spirit and makes some soothing and vibrant cocktails. Known for being aromatic and potent, gin is a grain-based liquor flavoured with botanicals including juniper berries. For those who don’t know, gin was originally invented for medicinal purposes by monks but in less time, it gained popularity as an herbaceous and excellent base for so many cocktails.

Gin Martini

 

This classic martini has gin as the star ingredient. It needs two ingredients and truly lets the gin move to the forefront. Believe me, this is a cocktail you would not regret investing in. Here’s how you can make it at home.  

Ingredients 

  • 1 oz gin 
  • ½ oz dry vermouth 
  • 3 olives 

Method 

  • Take a cocktail shaker and add gin and vermouth. Shake well. 
  • Strain the drink into a chilled martini glass. 
  • Garnish with olives and serve! 

Negroni

Ingredients 

  • 1-ounce campari 
  • 1-ounce gin 
  • 1-ounce sweet vermouth 
  • Orange peel for garnish 

Method 

  • Take an old-fashioned glass and add ice cubes. 
  • Add in gin, vermouth, and campari. Stir well. 
  • Gently squeeze an orange twist over the glass and also garnish.

  • 2 ounces of gin 
  • 1 tsp simple syrup 
  • 4 ounces champagne 
  • Freshly squeezed lemon juice 
  • Lemon twist 

Method 

  • Take a cocktail shaker and add ice. Pour gin and cognac. 
  • Shake well and strain into a chilled champagne flute. Make sure that the glass of half filled with ice. 
  • Fill in the champagne slowly. Garnish with a lemon twist.

The Clover Club 

The Clover Club is one of the rich soothing cocktails made with egg whites and raspberry syrup. For those who don’t know, the drink is named after its invention in the pre-prohibition era Philadelphia club. Here’s how you can make it. 

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces gin 
  • 3/4 ounce lemon juice 
  • 1/4 ounce raspberry syrup 
  • 1 large egg white 
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar 
  • Fresh raspberries, for garnish 

Method 

  • In a cocktail shaker with ice cubes, pour the gin, lemon juice, raspberry syrup, egg white, and sugar. 
  • Shake vigorously (more than usual to mix the egg and sugar properly). 
  • Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. 
  • Garnish with a skewer of fresh raspberries. Serve and enjoy.
