Navratri is one of the biggest Hindu festivals that is celebrated around the world in different ways. In Gujarat, people like to play dandia, whereas, in West Bengal, beautiful pandals are set. But what remains common in all these celebrations is the delicious food. This year Navratri will be observed from 9th April 2024 to 17th April 2024. Many people like to fast during these auspicious days to symbolise their devotion towards the goddess.

During these fasts, one can certainly not eat the regular food and even spices. One should refrain from eating any non-vegetarian food and regular cereals and grains. However, there are a lot of vrat-friendly options that one can explore. In this article, one will find different types of pakoras that they can make using ingredients that can be consumed during Navratri.
* Falahari Pakora
One flour that can be consumed during Navratri is kuttu ka aata. It is a great substitute for chickpea flour as it helps bind everything together firmly and makes the most perfect and crunchy pakoras. To make these pakoras one would need-
* 3-4 potatoes
* 5 tbsp kuttu ka aata
* 1 tsp sendha namak
* 1 green chilli
* ½ tsp powder
* 1 cup water
One has to simply cut potatoes into small cubes and then mix them in buckwheat flour. The rest of the spices can also be added to the mixture. add a little bit of water to make a nice and thick batter. One must take some oil in a pan and heat it for deep frying. Now with the help of a spoon simply start dropping a small quantity of the batter in the pan.

* Aloo Ka Pakora
Everyone loves hopping on some delicious Aloo pakoras. The vrat-friendly version of this. This is pretty simple to make and one would need-
* 1 cup kuttu aata
* 2 tsp senda namak
* ½ tsp chilli powder
* 1 cup water
* 2 potatoes
To make these delicious fritters, one has to simply make a batter with kuttu ka aata, chilli powder, sendha namak, and any other spice that one would like. The quantity of water can be adjusted as per requirement. Now taking each piece of potato, one has to perfectly cover it with the batter from all sides and fry it in a pan.

* Sabudana Pakora
Sabudana has a very interesting texture and can be used to make both sweet and savoury snacks during Navratri. To make the delicious sabudana pakoras, one would need the following ingredients-
* 1 cup soaked sabudana
* ½ cup peanuts
* 1 tsp chilli powder
* 1 tsp senda namak
* 1 cup mashed potatoes
* Coriander leaves
One must take the soaked sabudana in a bowl. In this bowl, one must add red chilli powder, mashed potatoes, salt, and some peanuts. all the ingredients should be mixed well and small balls can be made out of the mixture that should be deep fried in some oil.

* Kheere Ka Pakora
Kheere ka pakora may sound a bit absurd, but one certainly has to trust the process to enjoy this delicious vrat-friendly delicacy. Here are the ingredients that one needs.
* 1 cup kuttu ka aata
* 2 tsp sendha namak
* ½ tsp chilli powder
* 2 large cucumbers
* ½ tsp coriander powder
To make these fritters, one has to take kuttu ka aata in a bowl and then make some coriander powder, sendha namak, chilli powder, and coriander powder in the mixture. Water can be added to this mixture as per the requirement for making a thick batter. The cucumber must be cut into small slices that should be dipped properly in the batter before being fried in smouldering oil until they become golden brown.
* Kaddu Pakora
Kaddu or pumpkin can also be used to make delicious vrat-friendly pakoras. One would require the following ingredients to make these fritters.
* 1 cup singhare ka aata
* 2 tsp sendha namak
* ½ tsp chilli powder
* 1 small potato
* 1 tsp cumin powder
* 250 gms pumpkin
All the ingredients except the pumpkin must be mixed. Now some water must be added to the mixture to make a thick butter out of it. Small cubes of pumpkin can be added inside the batter to cover it completely. One can also add shredded pumpkin if they want. After heating the oil, the batter of shredded pumpkin or the pumpkin cubes can be fried inside the hot oil until they get lightly coloured and become firm.
* Paneer Pakoras
Paneer is an excellent source of protein that one can consume during Navratri. To make paneer pakoras on Navratri one would need the following things.
* 250 gms paneer
* 1 cup kuttu ka aata
* 2 tsp sendha namak
* ½ tsp chilli powder
* 1 tsp cumin powder
* Coriander leaves
One has to make a batter with some kuttu ka aata, sendha namak, and the spices stated above. Now some water and fresh coriander leaves can be added to make a fresh better. Small cubicle pieces of paneer should be fully immersed in the mixture before frying it.
