As we all know, people on social media, particularly Instagram, have a knack for finding beautiful things and making them go viral. That's exactly what happened to the butterfly blue pea flowers.
Though it is a very old flower that has been around for a long time, it has only just attracted the attention of the people, and now we are all obsessed with it.
Also called as Asian pigeonwings and bluebell vine, they belong to the family of Fabaceae(pea or bean family of flowers). These flowers are native to South Asia, but they have recently been discovered in Australia, America, and Africa.
These flowers are a deep blue colour with yellow and white markings. In India, these flowers are known as 'holy flowers,' and they play an important role in Indian culture, as they are frequently used in pooja and other rituals.
Its ink blue colour makes our hearts happy, and it also tastes wonderful when brewed as tea in hot water.
But wait, these lovely flowers aren't meant only to be turned into tea or used only in Thai dishes. We've come up with a new creative way to use it as a beverage known as the 'Butterfly Blue Pea Latte.' If you dip these flowers in any liquid, it will turn a dark blue colour that is so gorgeous that it can be used to turn around any boring drink.

Lattes are often made from tea or coffee and are a caffeinated beverage, however, because this butterfly blue pea is a flower, the latte created from it would be herbal and caffein-free, making it ideal for those who are trying to avoid caffeine while still wanting to have something good, wonderful and tasty.
Here’s how you can make your own blue coloured latte-
Ingredients:
• Butterfly blue pea flowers
• Milk (any kind, soy or almond would work too)
• Sweetener of choice
Method:
• Put some blue pea flowers in hot water and let it brew for 5-6 minutes until it turns a dark ink blue colour. Let it cool.
• Pour the brewed tea in a glass.
• Froth your hot steamed milk and pour iit over tea and watch your whole glass turn blue.
• Use sweetener or honey according to your taste.
You can even make it iced for the summer months. Try out this recipe now and share it with your friends too.
And don’t forget to put up its photos on Instagram for that aesthetic touch on your feed.
