Being hydrated is a simple regime that many of us forget to maintain, which sometimes causes problems like headaches, nausea, vomiting etc., which are also the potential symptoms of heat stroke. To avoid such risk, it is better to follow the basic rules of being hydrated and for that you don’t have to always chug down a simple glass of water. You can easily up your 'drinking game' by adding a few fruits to your jug of water. A classic glass of lemonade can be revamped into cherry lemonade. Cherry does not only have natural sweetness but is also packed with nutrients. Both lemon and cherries are rich in vitamin C which will give you a wholesome immunity-boosting drink that is also perfect to quench your thirst. Here’s the recipe of the refreshing beverage that will provide you the much-needed freshness in this flaming weather.
Ingredients:
- 1-2 cup fresh dark red cherries
- 1-1 ½ cup lemon juice
- 1 cup water or sparkling water, chilled
- 3 tbsp sugar or as required
- 2-3 mint leaves, garnish
Preparations:
1. Wash the cherries well then remove the pits carefully with a knife.
2. In a blender add the pitted cherries, lemon juice, water and sugar. Blend them for at least 20-30 secs or until it is smooth.
3. In a glass add the cherry-lemonade and garnish it with mint leaves.
