For me, a wholesome breakfast must have delicious, easy to make and healthy. So when I mentioned the features of my ideal breakfast, the first thing to cross my mind was pancakes are crepes. The batter-based foods are healthy, lip-smackingly delicious and highly filling. As we have covered tips to make perfect pancakes here, we have got you covered with some easy tips to make perfect crepes at home today.

Consistency Is The Key

Generally, a regular crepe has five ingredients- eggs, flour, milk, melted butter, and salt. You can whisk them by hand or blender to make a smooth batter. The batter's texture should be more delicate than heavy cream and have no lumps.

Resting Time Is Important

Rest the batter for thirty minutes to allow the flavours to get infused and the gluten to relax. You can also rest the batter in the fridge for two days and make them after.

Type Of Pan

Crepe pans are best for making perfectly cooked crepes. If you don’t have crepe pans, use a well-seasoned medium non-stick pan or a cast iron pan to make the crepes.

Heat It Right

While making crepes, make sure the heat is constant throughout. For best results, keep the flame on medium or medium-low through. The batter will not spread to the pan edges if the heat is too high. It will also lead to uneven cooking.

Use Proper Technique

Uneven thickness and cooking are among the most common problems people face while making crepes at home. To make sure your crepes are cooked evenly, lift the pan from the heat, tilt your wrist so that the batter moves to one side and swirl it around to distribute the batter evenly on the pan.

Cover The Crepes With A Paper Towel

Stack the crepes on a baking sheet or plate and cover them with a paper towel to keep them warm and moist. Uncover them after all the crepes are done and fill them with your favourite add-ons.

Storage

You can store the crepes by placing parchment paper or wax paper between the crepes. This will keep them soft and moist for longer. Cover them with plastic wrap and store them in the fridge. Thaw the crepes first before rewarming them in the microwave.

We hope the overhead tips will help you relish perfect crepes for breakfast any day of the week now.
