Sawan is an auspicious month in the Hindu religion. Devotees across the globe dedicate the month to Lord Shiva and abstain from eating some food items like onion, garlic, kadhi, saag, etc. Apart from these restrictions, many people observe a fast on Mondays, more commonly known as Sawan Somwar to take a step towards a Satvic diet.

Just like most Hindus, Bhumi Pednekar shared a sneak peek of her Sawan Somwar vrat-special thali on her Instagram handle. The Bollywood celebrity often makes it a point to keep her fans updated about her foodie adventures, be it when she is travelling across borders for a vacation, or trying out a new recipe at home.

But this time, sharing a thali filled with Satvik food made her fans relate to and love Bhumi Pednekar to a whole new level. She shared a picture of her food as an Instagram story with the caption, “Saavan ka aakhri Somvaar. Our culture is backed by science. Learning it slowly and steadily.”

Bhumi Pednekar is known for picking up roles that represent Indian society, her recent Instagram story also proves her love for Indian cuisine, cultures, and traditions. Just like a typical vrat thali would look, the Bollywood celebrity had kuttu (Buckwheat flour) ki roti with a side of boiled and mashed potatoes.

The sabzi looks well-garnished with coriander and chopped chillies along with a chopped slice of lemon. Adjacent to the Sawan-special aloo sabzi, there’s a green-coloured chutney which seems to be made with pudina (mint) and dhania (coriander). The perfect combination of the three entrees made Bhumi Pednekar’s traditional fast thali look irresistible.
