The USA Spirits Ratings has been created exclusively by the Beverage Trade Network, in which more than hundreds of brands participate and compete at a global level. This global rating system stands out from other international competitions by evaluating spirits on three critical criteria: Quality, Value, and Packaging. Out of all the single malt whiskies, Indri Dru earned a spot in the “Top 15 Whiskies of the Year” at the 2024 International Whisky Competition.
The Sanskrit word “Dru” translates to wood, tree or a vessel that is made with wood. As per the ancient scriptures, in Indian mythology, Dru was a vessel in which ‘soma’ (a drink) was collected and offered to the Gods. Thus, Indri Dru, the winning whisky gets its name thanks to its preparation process that involves ex-bourbon barrels which are handpicked and offered to awaken the senses.
Surpassing the International and domestic competitors, Indri Single Malt Whisky created by Piccadily Distilleries, has made its name in history. In a monumental achievement, Indri Dru was awarded ‘Whisky of The Year’, ‘Single Malt Whisky of The Year’, ‘Best Spirit of The Year by Country’, and earned a coveted ‘Gold Medal’.
Furthermore, Indri Trini also cemented the triumph with its own ‘Gold Medal’. Indri Dru’s clean sweep at the USA Spirit Rating Awards is not just a victory for Piccadily Distilleries but a defining rather prestigious moment for India on the global whisky stage. The global title proves the nation’s capability to produce high-quality liquor that is not only at par with but also exceeds the standards set by its international counterparts.
Adding to the success, Indri Founder's Reserve 11 YO Wine Cask was also the only Indian whisky to be amongst the “Top 15 Whiskies of The Year”. Ranking 8th amongst the best whiskies of the year, it is also reported that the liquors above Indri were more than 22 years old.
