There’s something delightful about a cold glass of margarita, but what if a spicy Indian tadka is more your taste? Don’t worry, we have got you, let’s make a Chilli Mango Margarita. It’s sweet, boozy and fruity with just the right amount of chilli. It takes just a couple of ingredients and only five minutes of your time. You can make this in a blender as well as in a cocktail shaker.
This recipe makes three glasses, so scale up if you want to serve this at your next dinner party.
You’ll Need
- 1 ripe mango
- 1 cup orange juice
- 2 lemons
- 3 ounces silver tequila
- 1ounce of triple sec or orange liqueur
- 1 dash hot sauce
- 1-3 Tbsp of simple syrup
- 1 lime wedge
- 1 tsp chilli powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- Ice
Instructions
- Squeeze lemon juice and chill your glasses in the freezer.
- On a plate, mix the chilli powder and salt and set aside.
- Peel the mango and deseed. Cut into cubes.
- In a blender, add the cubed mangoes, orange juice, tequila, triple sec, hot sauce, and ice and blend until smooth. Taste and add simple syrup accordingly.
- Alternatively, you can do this in a shaker. Puree the mango cubes with a fork. Add the mango puree, juice, tequila, triple sec and hot sauce to the shaker. Shake well and then add the ice. You’ll come to a similar consistency. Taste and add simple syrup accordingly.
- Bring your glasses out, rub the lime wedge around the glass's rim and then rim the glass with the chilli and salt mixture.
- Pour the mix into glasses and enjoy.
Pro Tip: To avoid the ice, you can make use of frozen cubed mangoes.
