Oaksmith Gold, India’s first international blended whisky, is crafted by Shinji Fukuyo, one of the most celebrated master blenders globally. A first of its kind spirit, Oaksmith Gold brings together the best of East and West in a beautiful 6-edged bottle by blending premium aged Scotch Malts, aged Kentucky straight Bourbon—some from distilleries over 200 years old—with world class Japanese craftsmanship. Oaksmith Gold and its blend are a celebration of craftsmanship and global collaboration, bringing in an unmatched international experience with every sip.
Beam Suntory, known for its premium international spirits which include Oaksmith Gold, was awarded accolades for two of its brands earlier this year. At the Annual SIP Awards in California, USA, Oaksmith Gold and Oaksmith International won Gold and Double Gold respectively.
Over 1,000 brands from 49 countries competed at the Awards, for which the judging criteria was aroma, taste, and finish. The judging panel for the competition included consumers as well.
Besides the win in California, both brands also won a bronze at the 4th London Spirits Competition, which uses both experts and consumers as judges, for quality, value, and packaging.
Beam Suntory believes that these wins are telling of the quality that the brand takes pride in. “It is a moment of great pride for our whisky brands ‘Oaksmith Gold’ and ‘Oaksmith International’ to receive a grand recognition at both SIP Awards and London Spirits Competition. Oaksmith is a unique blend which has been crafted by Suntory’s Chief Blender, Shinji Fukuyo specially to compliment the flavour palate of Indian consumers bringing the best of East and West. These awards are a true honor and testament to the very reason Oaksmith was launched in India—to be a brand of choice for all, while continuing to offer a premium experience to our Indian consumers. We are extremely delighted that both blend variants ‘Oaksmith Gold’ and ‘Oaksmith International’ performed so well at these global award platforms,” said Neeraj Kumar, Managing Director, Beam Suntory India.
Oaksmith entered the Indian market in December 2019 and has only expanded its footprint ever since. “Oaksmith is meticulously crafted to achieve high quality, smooth spirit that is rich on the nose and balanced on the palate with a full-bodied, delightful long finish. It has been expanding across the country and also receives immense appreciation from the consumers,” the brand said.
