Bangalore, Mumbai Can Now Avail 10-Minute Meal Delivery Services

Food delivery and quick commerce giant Swiggy has introduced 'Bolt,' a service designed to deliver food within 10 minutes. With this new feature, Swiggy will offer quick-to-prepare meals from well-known restaurants and QSRs (quick service restaurants) located within a 2 km radius of customers. The focus is on delivering dishes that can be prepared swiftly while maintaining their taste, freshness, and quality.

Bolt will offer a variety of popular meals like burgers, hot and cold beverages, breakfast items, biryani, and ready-to-pack options like ice cream, sweets, and snacks. Participating brands include KFC, McDonald's, Burger King, Baskin Robbins and Starbucks along with local favourites.

The IPO-bound platform's newest service is already operational in key locations across six major cities Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai, and Bangalore, and it will expand into more areas in the coming weeks.

"The service will continue to expand into additional areas in the coming weeks," Swiggy stated. As per reports, the service is made possible through partnerships with restaurants that specialize in quick order fulfilment, offering dishes that require little to no preparation time, while limiting the delivery radius to 2 km.

Swiggy also addressed concerns about delivery partners, stating that they "are not informed" about the difference between Bolt and regular orders. As a result, delivery partners are "neither penalized nor incentivized based on delivery time."

Rohit Kapoor, CEO of Swiggy's Food Marketplace, said, "Bolt is the next evolution in our mission to provide unmatched convenience. Ten years ago, Swiggy revolutionised food delivery by cutting average wait times to 30 minutes".

"Now, we're reducing that wait even further for frequently ordered items like coffee, burgers, ice cream, and biryani, partnering with trusted restaurants to deliver the best food in just 10 minutes."
