Bajra Is Perfect For Winters And This Trending Dosa Proves Why

Dosa is a delicious South Indian dish that is both appetising and healthy. Very rarely are we able to come across a recipe that is a perfect amalgamation of taste and nutrition. There are so many different ways to make Dosa and one can use a variety of grains to make it. The process may look the same, but the final output and the taste of the Dosa are quite different in all cases. In her recent reel, Nidhi Bothra who is popular by her username @naturallynidhi on Instagram shared a Bajra Dosa recipe on her Instagram account. The reel has received multiple likes and comments and people are going fanatical over the recipe.

In the Instagram reels, Nidhi can be seen splitting some water on a pan and pouring a batter to make a crispy and thin bajra Dosa. In the background voice, she tells the audience that the recipe is pretty simple and doesn't require any fermentation or rava. The Dosa made if bajra is very crunchy and thin. Nidhi goes on to tell the recipe by mixing one cup of bajra flour and one cup of water in a big utensil. Then, with the help of a whisker, she mixes the batter and tells the audience to let the mixture rest for at least one hour. This step is important to ensure the bajra flour absorbs the water and becomes fluffy.

After one hour, Nidhi further adds two more cups of water, along with freshly chopped onions, tomatoes, salt to taste, cumin seed powder, and some fresh coriander leaves. She gives everything a gentle stir and prepares the batter. Then she asks the audience to heat a pan and make it piping hot. The temperature of the Tawa must be checked by sprinkling some water droplets on the top. Now very carefully, the bajra batter has to be poured over the pan in a circular motion.

A similar web-like structure like that of Rava Dosa will be seen on the pan. Nidhi tells the audience to put the gas on medium flame as soon as one pours the batter into the pan. Then she goes on to sprinkle a spoonful of Desi ghee on the top of the Dosa. This step is important to ensure that both sides of the Dosa turn golden brown. Then she flips the Dosa over the other corner and serves it with some Coconut Chutney as well as Aloo masala.
