What is cholesterol? The blood circulation in the body forms fat in the body called cholesterol that gives energy to the body's cells. Cholesterol works to create structural facilities for the body and helps make many enzymes in the body. When cholesterol increases, there is a problem of breathlessness, high blood pressure and an increased risk of getting diabetes and heart diseases.
Ayurvedic remedies for high cholesterol
Arogyavardhini Vati, Punarnava Mandur, Triphala, Chandraprabha Vati and powdered decoction of Arjuna bark are used to treat cholesterol. Some other Ayurvedic treatments of cholesterol are as follows-
- Grind half a teaspoon of flaxseeds and consume on an empty stomach with water. It is very beneficial for people with triglyceride cholesterol. These seeds can also be eaten by adding them to roti or vegetables or grinding them into flour. Patients with diabetes and high BP can also consume it.
- Mix a teaspoon of cinnamon in the powder of dry ginger and peepal, soak it in a cup of water for 10 minutes, and leave it after a while. Honey can be added to it for taste. Drinking it removes phlegm and also controls cholesterol.
- Boil five grams of Arjuna bark powder in 400 milligrams of water. When one-fourth remains, take this solution off. When it becomes lukewarm, drink it on an empty stomach.
- Take 25 to 50 grams of bottle gourd juice, add 7-8 leaves of basil and mint and sip it on an empty belly in the morning.
- Mix one bud of garlic in half a teaspoon of lemon juice, grated ginger and take it every time before eating.
- Take two tablets of Medohar Vati and Triphala Guggal Vati with lukewarm water twice a day before meals.
- Soak ten neem leaves in a cup of water. Then, grind, sieve them and drink them at any time of the day.
- After sprouting fenugreek seeds, take 5 grams daily in the morning with breakfast.
Apart from this, high cholesterol patients should take a healthy and balanced diet. They should take fewer calories to keep their weight under control. Do not quit fats altogether because good fats are also necessary for the body; take care of their quality and quantity.
