Athiya Shetty Indulges In A South Indian Lunch Of Dosa, Chicken & Rasam

Known to celebrate her Mangalorean roots more often than most people think, actress Athiya Shetty always seeks familiar comfort in South Indian food, no matter what part of the world she’s busy travelling to and from. Fresh off of a trip to Spain with her husband, cricketer KL Rahul, she posted a photograph of a delicious meal that she relished yesterday. On her plate was a crisp dosa accompanied by a dry preparation of Mangalorean chicken that was tossed in a fiery red chilli paste and fresh coriander leaves – which she washed down with a cup of steaming raw mango rasam.

The lip-smacking meal, which was prepared by the actress’ private chef, looked ready to be devoured and relished at leisure. Accompanying the photograph was an emoji of a home as well as a caption that said, “Mangalorean chicken + dosa + raw mango rasam = heaven!” The deep brown of the rasam was dotted with flecks of coconut as well as curry leaves, giving it a true-blue South Indian flavour. On her recent Spanish holiday, Athiya made sure to get her fill of the famous seafood delicacy called paella, as well as sweet treats like chocolate-dipped crackers and crunchy cookies.

In addition to this, she also continues to share glimpses of her indulgences quite often – showcasing treats like lemon meringue pies, panettone bread dusted with powdered sugar, endless cups of coffee and cocktails on her rather thoughtfully curated page. Being a self-confessed dessert lover, Athiya has been known to relish treats like waffles with syrup, motichoor ladoos and more from time to time.
