Anushka Sharma Enjoys Simple And Comforting Rice And Aloo Pitika

Actress Anushka Sharma, who has been championing veganism by example, shared a picture of her dinner plate last night on Instagram. In the image that she captioned, “simplicity”, was a portion of some steamed short grain rice, paired with a serving of the Bengali delicacy, aloo pitika. She has also expressed her love for the vegetable puffs from Thom’s bakery in Bengaluru, along with being a huge fan of South Indian food. Ingredients

  • 2 potatoes, boiled
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 green chillies, chopped
  • ½ tablespoon mustard oil
  • Salt, to taste

Method

  • Mash the potatoes into a smooth yet chunky consistency and season with salt.
  • Add the onions and green chillies, mix well to combine. Pour warm mustard oil over the mixture and stir well for the flavours to build.
  • Shape into a ball and enjoy with piping hot ghee rice.
