All devotees in India salute the Goddess of wisdom and knowledge on Saraswati Pujo, which marks the spring festival as well. That's not all, but on this day, students, scholars, and all academics do not touch their books, and the Bengalis prepare a humble feast at home to honour the occasion. And that’s exactly what Anurag Basu did this year.
While the director has given us several memorable films like "Life in a Metro," he decided to enjoy this festival at home with all his friends from Bollywood. He posted glimpses of the celebration on his Instagram handle, where we spotted Rajkumar Rao with his wife, Patralekha, Pritam Chakraborty, Shilpa Rao, Abhishek Bachchan, and Fatima Sana Sheikh, having a great time.
What was on the menu? Well, Anurag may not have disclosed the menu, but we saw all the Bollywood celebrities enjoying a hearty plate of the traditional Bengali khichuri for bhog, along with papad, begun bhaja (fried sliced brinjals), chorchori, a Bengali mix vegetable dish, and labra, made with sweet potato and several other vegetables.
The film fraternity had a great time at Anurag’s celebratory get-together, as all were seen laughing and chatting while digging into the scrumptious feast. When Fatima collaborated with Anurag for a film, the two were known to have bonded over home-cooked food, and the latter would bring food from home on the sets that the two of them would thoroughly enjoy.
