Every year Ayurveda Day is celebrated on Dhanwantri Jayanti, and this year, it falls on November 02. Ayurveda ultimately believes in natural healthcare created in prehistoric times, and it is equally applicable in the current times. It is based on the notion of stability in bodily systems and practising a healthy diet. The promotion of health and prevention of disease is the key objective of these principles. It is a system of alternative medicine that has its roots in the Indian subcontinent and offers a healthy lifestyle. This day strives to build awareness in today's generation and promote Ayurvedic beliefs of healing in society.
Ayurveda puts particular importance on "Anna" (food) and "Ahara" (diet) as a medium to good health, wellness and life. Nourishment plays an essential role in an Ayurvedic way of living. Hence, we must consume ingredients that are nourishing for our bodies in our day-to-day energy. Healthy food not only nurtures our body but also helps our mind and soul. Ajwain has been considered one such ingredient that has been found to have antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. In addition, it may help treat gastric ulcers and lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels.
