What could be a better way than to welcome your guests with a glass brimming up with a chilled, creamy and spicy beverage. Mattha is a traditional summer cooler that is loved by people belonging mainly to the states of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal and Maharashtra. The name ‘Mattha’ is a Maharashtrian word, which is another term used for buttermilk. Some might confuse mattha with chaas, but the very interesting difference you might always forget is that Mattha is spicy while chaas is mainly just sweet.
