Samsung has recently announced their new AI-powered app, Samsung Food which will provide a comprehensive platform to aid with every stage of cooking up your dream dinners. The service has over 1,60,000 preprogrammed recipes and allows you to surf the web more and save new ones you create. It can also tailor recipes to be vegan, gluten-free or even just a bit more balanced at the tap of a button. There’s also the function to connect with your other devices and build shopping lists from the recipes you select. It also comes with an option to adjust the recipe based on cooking time or skill level so even if you’re a novice looking for a quick meal, it will ensure that you get the best options to suit your situation. 

The team behind thee product is excited to deliver a new and simplified cooking experience. “The food we enjoy and the way we prepare it are central to our daily lives, and we all love to cook and eat together,” says Chanwoo Park, Executive Vice President of the Digital Appliances Business at Samsung Electronics. “By connecting digital appliances and mobile devices across the Samsung ecosystem and assisting users from shopping list to dinner plate, Samsung Food is using advanced AI capabilities to deliver a highly personalised, all-in-one food experience that users can control straight from their palms.”

This isn’t the first time the company has had deep ties to how people eat, in fact, it's at their very foundations. The precursor to Samsung was founded on March 1, 1938, by Lee Byung-Chul in Daegu, a city located in what is now South Korea. Initially named "Samsung Trading Company," it focused primarily on exporting locally grown groceries, including dried fish, vegetables, and, most notably, noodles.

At that time, the noodle industry was a significant part of Korea's food culture, and Samsung's production and distribution of noodles quickly gained popularity. The company's dedication to quality and innovation played a crucial role in its success, establishing a solid foundation for future endeavours.

As the years passed, Samsung expanded its business interests into various industries. In the 1950s and 1960s, the company diversified into textiles, sugar refining, and insurance. The founder, Lee Byung-Chul, believed in seizing opportunities and adapting to the changing landscape and soon transitioned into the world of electronics, which ultimately led to the company's steady growth and expansion.

It seems like this new invention has brought Samsung full circle, and now with the help of AI, they’re set to help the world make cooking for yourself a little less of a challenge.
