Gin and cookies - it may seem like an odd cocktail combination at first glance. But don't knock it 'til you've tried it! This unique drink brings together the botanical, juniper-forward flavour of gin with the sweet, nostalgic taste of homemade cookies. Gin is crisp and herbal. Popular brands like Tanqueray and Gordon's have excellent flavour profiles that pair well with complex cookies. The cookies should be nutty, spicy, or citrusy to bring out the best in the gin. In fact, the more flavour in the cookie, the better the gin tastes. This combo shines in cocktails inspired by classic gin drinks.

Want to experiment with gin and cookie cocktails? Try these 6 cocktail recipes. It just may become your new favourite drink!

6. Almond Cookie Gin Fizz

Ingredients:

60 ml gin

1 egg white

30 ml simple syrup

30 ml fresh lemon juice

30 ml heavy cream

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

1/4 tsp almond extract

Club soda

Almond cookie crumbs and sprinkles for garnish

Method:

Add the gin, egg white, simple syrup, and lemon juice to a cocktail shaker.

Seal the shaker and shake vigorously for 4-5 minutes without ice to froth up the egg white.

Add 2 ice cubes to the shaker and shake hard for about 10 seconds until the ice cubes start to melt.

Open the shaker and add the heavy cream, vanilla extract, and almond extract. Reseal and shake for 10 more seconds to mix. Take a collins glass and fill it halfway with ice cubes.

Strain the frothy cocktail mixture from the shaker into the glass.

Slowly top up the glass with club soda, pouring gently against the inside to lift the froth above the rim. Garnish the top of the drink with almond cookie crumbs and sprinkle.
