‘Hustle-bustle', ‘buzz’, ‘chaos’ are some of the words you associate with Delhi, and that’s okay. Delhi is always up to something, and it is quite a task to find a moment of calm in the capital. But when we do find it, we like to hold on to it for as long as possible. If you have taken a tour of Delhi in the wee hours of morning, you would know what we are talking about. Turns out, there is a whole gamut of cafes and restaurants around the capital that are adamant to make you fall in love with this 'quieter side' of the city. Not only are they giving us a reason to wake up early, but also grab the most important meal of the day- the breakfast! Here are some of our most favourite breakfast places in Delhi. Have a look.
1. Ama’s Café
Nestled in the cobbled lanes of Majnu ka Tila, Ama’s Café is a fan-favourite for a reason. It is hard to find such an authentic and pocket-friendly fare anywhere else in Delhi. But what is on offer you ask? Everything from apple pie, carrot cinnamon pancakes, Belgian waffles, sausage, bacon, eggs and a fair amount of Himalayan delicacies.

2. COLOCAL
Despite being fairly new to the capital’s F&B scene, COLOCAL in Chattarpur is making all the right noise for its terrific vintage interiors, wide menu and concept. It is a chocolate factory and a café clubbed into one, and every inch of it is just so dreamy! They recently introduced a breakfast menu that packs classics like mushroom omelettes, pancakes, English breakfast, granola, milkshakes and protein bowls.
3. The Habitat Hub
Unwind and indulge in one of Delhi’s finest breakfast spots. Situated in the cultural hub of the capital, Indian Habitat Centre- The Habitat Hub previously known as The All American Diner serves up a refreshing American fare. Right from Belgian waffles, bacon, sausages, stuffed omelettes, pancakes and sandwiches, they’ve got you covered.
4. Café Lota
Savour a mix of Indian and contemporary fare at Café Lota. Perched in the posh neighbourhood of Pragati Maidan, Café Lota’s spacious, warm and chic ambience does its bit to elevate the brunch experience. From parathas to quinoa upma, sandwiches, sheera to idlis – there are options galore to pick and choose from.
5. Saravana Bhawan
If you fancy crispy dosas, loaded uttapams, crunchy vadas, then how have you not visited Saravana Bhawan right at the start of the day? The fact that it is so high on energy right at 10 a.m in the morning, goes to show how popular is it among Delhiites. Rava dosa, uttapam, vada, upma, obattu, and filter coffee are some of our recommendations from the breakfast menu.
6. Juggernaut
Looks like fans of South Indian food in Delhi have plenty of reasons to make merry. Juggernaut at Kailash Colony has been a classic dining destination among Delhiites for long. You may have heard about their delish dosas, paniyaram, rasam and sambhar. Did you know they start serving these as early as 9 a.m in the morning! Morning blues, what’s that now?
