People who like trying different types of dishes regularly cook a lot of things at home. All of these dishes require a bunch of different ingredients, all of which have different smells and textures. Very often, the combination of these ingredients leaves a fishy smell in the kitchen that is extremely unpleasant. Sometimes this smell is so intolerable that it becomes almost impossible to cook in the kitchen.

If not tackled at the right time, this can become a perpetual problem. Room spray only helps in overlapping the foul smell for the time being, but it doesn't go away. As soon as the effect of the room spray fades, the foul smells start bothering one again. The best way to solve this problem is to eradicate it by using a proper solution.

Here are some solutions that can be used to get rid of any kind of absurd or fishy smell that might be present in the kitchen.

* Potpourri

A great way of getting rid of the fishy smell in the kitchen is by using some fresh spices. Not all spices can be used for this purpose and only some special spices can help in tackling the problem. Cinnamon and cloves are considered the best spices for eradicating any kind of unwanted smell from the kitchen. One has to simply take the spices and boil them in some water. While boiling them, the pot must not be covered with the lid and the steam must be allowed to flow through the kitchen. Within a few seconds, one will see that the fishy smell has gone away and there are only fresh notes of cinnamon and cloves in the kitchen.

* Vinegar Or Lemon

Using vinegar and lemon to eradicate unwanted aroma from the kitchen is also quite useful as well as natural. To do this, one has to simply take some lemon juice or vinegar in a bowl. Using any of the two ingredients is enough. Now some water has to be added to the bowl and the solution must be boiled. The fragrance of this acid will help neutralise the fishy smell in the kitchen. One can also use this water by filling it in small spray bottles and then spraying the solution all over the kitchen. This is like a natural room freshener that will not have a strong smell and yet leave a very fresh and nice fragrance behind it.

* Natural Light And Ventilation

Allowing natural light to flow through the kitchen is also very important to make sure all the unwanted particles present in the air can go out. Sometimes the reason behind the accumulation of such foul smell is a lack of ventilation and the presence of natural light. The kitchen must have a lot of ventilation in the form of a big door and a few windows. One can always keep some windows open during the process of cooking so that all the steam goes out by itself. Even if there is a chimney present in the kitchen, the job of natural light and ventilation cannot be done by something else. One must not underestimate the importance of natural light and ventilation and must take care of this factor.

* Camphor

Using camphor is a very old tradition of purifying the house and getting rid of bad odour. Camphor is very effective in attracting any kind of bad odour towards itself and leaving the house fresh and free of smell. One can use a diffuser or a camphor holder to put some comphor inside it and then light up a candle on the top. This will instantly clean the house and the bad odour will slowly start fading away. This is a natural remedy and acts like an air purifier but at a low cost.

* Cleaning The Kitchen

Sometimes, due to the accumulation of old and spoiled food, the kitchen starts smelling extremely bad. This is why cleaning the kitchen at frequent intervals is very important to make sure that the kitchen doesn't start smelling bad. Taking care of perishable food is very important as it gets spoiled within a few days and doesn't have a very long shelf life. One must throw away anything that has gone bad instantly. This food will not just give out bad odour, but also spoil any other food that is kept beside it. Any kind of residue of cooked food should not be stored in the refrigerator for more than one or two days.

These are some of the top ways to ensure that one's kitchen is free from any kind of foul smell that bothers anyone who enters the kitchen and further spreads into the rest of the house.
