Read recipes carefully
Not reading the entire recipe of a dish before attempting it is like not reading the entire chapter for an exam. Doing this won't give you good results. Read the recipes till the end and try your best to follow them entirely.
Do not ignore the sticking part

Do away with over frying or almost burning a dish or ingredient
You must have experienced a particular ingredient getting over-fried and the whole dish tasting unbearable because of it. You can prevent such things from happening by giving the required attention to the dish you are cooking.
Do not go for too much of anything
Extra sarso or rayi can ruin your fish curry. Too much haldi or dal in khichdi does the same. In addition, you should always use anything that comes under the category of garam masala very carefully in an appropriate amount.
