5 Desserts You Can Make In A Microwave Under 10 Minutes

Baking is infamous for being complex and time-consuming, but many people don’t know that there are a few desserts that take less than 10 minutes to bake. You do not have to worry about even preheating the oven. The hassle of preheating the appliance, preparing the baking tray, and lining it with sheets almost makes even seasoned bakers procrastinate.

Whether you are an amateur or a pro at baking, a few recipes are easy to ace because they require only a handful of ingredients and a couple of minutes in the microwave. Below mentioned cupcakes, cookies, puddings, and custards that you make in the blink of an eye and serve your guests. 

Banana Bread

To bake banana bread, you do not have to invest an entire day. Take a large bowl and mix sugar and banana until you have a smooth paste. Add eggs and vanilla extract to this combination and beat it until everything comes together.

In another bowl, keep a mixture of baking soda, flour, and salt ready. Pour it into the banana and egg concoction and blend it using a rubber spatula. At this stage, you add a few chocolate chips. On high setting, microwave this mixture for just 2-3 minutes and your banana bread will be ready.

Fruit Custard

It might sound weird but this fruit custard recipe made in the microwave tastes delicious. All you need for this are sugar, eggs, fruits, and milk. You don’t even have to go grocery shopping because your refrigerator might be loaded with them.

Whisk eggs in a microwave-safe bowl until they are fluffy and light. Add sugar and milk to the bowl and whisk again. Add chopped fruits of your choice, like strawberries, bananas, grapes, mango, etc. Microwave it for just a minute. Stir once, and set the timer for 30 more seconds. If the custard is set aside for cooling, if not, microwave it for another 30 seconds.

Chocolate Mug Cake

You will not believe if you read anywhere that a chocolate cake can be made in under two minutes. This mug cake recipe is easy to follow and can be enjoyed with children. Imagine you have unannounced guests at your doorsteps, and you quickly serve them hot chocolate cake. You will soon become everyone’s favourite.

Take a microwave-safe mug and add flour, cocoa powder, salt, baking soda, and powdered sugar to it. Now pour some milk, oil, vanilla extract, and water into this mixture and blend again. Either top it with chocolate chips or hide a few pieces of chocolates in between and microwave the concoction for no more than 1 minute 45 seconds. Enjoy it with vanilla ice cream.

Chocolate Souffle

Apart from chocolate mug cake, you can make chocolate souffle. It is a more delicate dessert that you can prepare in just under a minute. You will need sugar, eggs, milk, butter, cocoa powder, and salt.

Grease a mug with butter and dust the sides with cocoa powder. Whisk egg yolk with sugar until the yellow colour fades. In another bowl, keep a concoction of milk and cocoa powder ready. Beat egg whites with salt until you can see soft peaks. Add remaining sugar. Mix egg whites and yolk mixture. Pour this mixture into the mug and microwave it for a minute. 

Rice Pudding

If you have leftover rice, you can make rice pudding in just a few minutes. No hassle of boiling milk and dissolving sugar for this recipe. Start by combining cream, milk, cooked rice, salt, sugar, and cinnamon powder. 

Microwave this mixture for just two minutes in a high-temperature setting. Stir the mixture and microwave again for a couple of minutes. Repeat this process once or twice, and your pudding will be ready. Add raisins and other dry fruits as garnishing and enjoy it.
