So let’s not waste any more time and get straight to the point!
Here are the top 3 foods recommended to keep digestion in check during wedding season
1. Methi laddoo made with jaggery, ghee and dry ginger:
This is one of the best combinations that will work its magic on your gut! It will prevent stomach cramps and constipation, promote intestinal mucosa and even help keep your hair lustrous, which can otherwise look frizzy due to a poor-functioning stomach.
Pro tip: Have it either at breakfast or as a snack between 4-6 pm. It will help if you are out of routine with your sleep and missing workouts. Last but not the least, it helps with blood sugar regulation too. It’s a win-win!
2. Glass of chaas with hing and kala namak:
This is a drink that you MUST consume post lunch! Diwekar says that while the chaas or buttermilk is both a good source of probiotics and vitamin B12, the hing and kala namak combo will help cut down bloating, gas and even prevent irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). This will keep your digestive health in check.
Pro tip: Do it, especially if you are attending evening functions and want to sport a flat stomach.
3. A teaspoon of chyawanprash:
We’ve always turned to chyawanprash, ever since we were kids, right? Have a teaspoon at bedtime to keep your immune and digestive system strong. It is a solid source of flavonoids and antioxidants, and will ensure that your skin stays supple and soft, even through the ongoing wedding festivities.
Pro tip: If late night shaadis are a routine, and especially if you are at destination weddings.
So follow all these tips, and make your digestive system shaadi-ready too!
