Zesty Delight: Tangy South Indian Lemon Rice

Experience the perfect balance of tangy lemon, aromatic spices, and fluffy rice in this traditional South Indian Lemon Rice recipe. A burst of flavors in every bite!

Ingredients

Cooked rice (2 cups) 2-3 Lemons (juice) 1 tsp Mustard seeds 1 tsp Urad dal 1 tsp Chana dal 1/4 cup Peanuts Curry leaves 2 Green chilies 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder Asafoetida (a pinch) Salt (to taste) 2 tbsp Oil

Step 1

Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter. Add urad dal and chana dal. Saute well.

Step 2

Now Add peanuts and fry until they become slightly crunchy. Add curry leaves and green chilies.

Step 3

Add turmeric powder and asafoetida. Mix well. Add the cooked rice to the pan and gently combine.

Step 4

Squeeze the lemon juice over the rice. Add salt to taste and mix everything thoroughly. Let it cool down and serve!
