This popular milk-based drink from the city of Madurai, literally translates to ‘cool drink’. Make this simple but delicious drink at home to have something different from the usual milkshakes and lassi.
2 teaspoons almond pisin (katira gond) 2 cups water 1 cup milk 2 tablespoons condensed milk 2 teaspoons rose syrup 1 scoop vanilla ice cream
Rinse the almond pisin and soak it overnight in water.
Drain and set aside 1-2 tablespoons for further usage. Refrigerate the remaining, if necessary.
Whisk the milk and condensed milk thoroughly and leave it to chill in the refrigerator.
Add the almond pisin to a serving glass, followed by the rose syrup.
Pour over the milk mixture and add a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Serve immediately.
