For beginners making Biryani for the first time, these easy kitchen tips can be a great help in getting the feast dish right. Here are all the tips you need to make perfect Biryani every time.
Biryani cooking involves lots of stages and plenty of ingredients, so get those sorted before you begin.
Choose aged, long-grain and fragrant rice varieties like Basmati or aged, short-grain rice like Kaima for your Biryani.

Soaking the rice for half an hour will elongate the grains and make your Biryani look even more resplendent.

Don’t overcook the rice or cook it in a cooker. Instead, cook it in excess water until 80% done, drain and cool.

Don’t just rely on spices to get the aromas of biryani right. Instead, use multiple aromats to layer up the aromas.
The yakhni or gravy for the Biryani shouldn’t be too runny or too dry as this will affect the cooking of the layers.

Chicken, mutton, fish—no matter which protein you use, make sure it isn’t undercooked or overcooked.

Biryanis are supposed to be cooked on dum, so tampering with the seal is one of the biggest mistakes you can possibly make.
