Winter Special: How To Make Gajak At Home

Made with the goodness of jaggery, gajak is a popular winter snack cum dessert that is popular all across the country.

1 cup sesame seeds, 3/4 cup jaggery, 1 tbsp ghee, 1 tsp oil, 1/4 tsp cardamom powder

Ingredients

Grease a pastry tray with oil, keep aside. Roast sesame seeds in a pan, till they turn pinkish. Remove, keep aside.

Step 1

Melt jaggery over low heat, in a pan. Add Ghee, cardamom, stir gently till smooth.

Step 2

Add sesame seeds, mix gently. Pour into tray, allow to cool till warm.

Step 3

Mark out indentations for squares as desired. Allow to cool completely and serve.

Step 4

Store the remaining gajak in an airtight container.
